A hands-on, immersive day with the bees. for curious minds, nature lovers, special occasions, groups and teams.
Come behind the scenes of a working apiary and experience the extraordinary world of honeybees up close.
Suit up, meet the colony, open a real hive and discover what is happening inside. With Christian (plus his beekeeping assistants for large groups) guiding you throughout, you’ll learn how to read the bees, handle frames and understand the fascinating relationship between the colony, its environment and the beekeeper.
It’s an opportunity to slow down, spend time in nature, learn something completely new and experience the magic of bees close up.
We work with small groups of curious individuals, cater to private groups and events & also provide unique educational experience days for schools and colleges.
🐝 Suit up and meet the bees: Get properly equipped and enter the apiary for a close-up encounter with a working colony.
🐝 Open a live hive: Look inside a real hive and, where conditions allow, handle frames containing bees, brood, honey and pollen.
🐝 Learn to read the colony: Discover how bees communicate and how an experienced beekeeper reads their behaviour, movement and body language.
🐝 Meet the queen: Depending on the colony and the day, you may have the opportunity to spot the queen and understand her role within the colony.
🐝 Discover the hidden world of the hive: Learn about the structure of a colony, the different roles of the bees, how honey is produced and how the hive changes throughout the seasons.
🐝 Taste honey straight from the source: Experience fresh honey from the hive and discover how different flowers, seasons and landscapes influence its flavour.
🐝 Spend time in nature: Step away from screens and everyday life and spend time observing one of nature’s most extraordinary societies.
🐝 See different colonies behaving differently: Every colony has its own character. Weather, season, queen, forage and colony dynamics can all influence what happens on the day.
🐝 Goodies to take home: Depending on the experience, guests can leave with honey, balm, beeswax products or a specially selected gift from the apiary. A beautiful, memorable reminder of the day.
🐝 Capture the moment: There will be opportunities for photographs during the experience, so you can remember the day — including the obligatory photograph in your bee suit!
